Website Speed Optimization: How Load Time Affects Rankings and Revenue
How website load time hits rankings and revenue in 2026 — what to measure, what to fix first, and why a 4-second hero is an ads tax.

Does website speed really affect rankings and revenue?
Yes. Slow pages bounce, and Google uses field Core Web Vitals as a ranking signal among many. You will not leapfrog a better offer with a 100 ms win. You will stop donating paid clicks to a 6-second hero.

What to measure (not vanity)
Search Console mobile vitals on templates
Landing pages that take ad spend
Time to first form interaction, not only LCP
Revenue or leads per session before/after, same channel
How fast should a site be?
Aim for good field LCP (≤2.5s) on mobile for money templates. “Instant” is marketing. “Usable before people leave” is the bar.
Will speed alone rank us #1?
No. It keeps you in the game. Content and relevance still decide.
Is AMP still a thing?
Not as a strategy. Make the real pages fast.
What about animations?
Fine if they do not block input. INP cares about JS. Decorative motion that delays taps is a tax.
How much does a speed pass cost?
Often $1,500–$8,000 for templates. Rebuilds cost more and sometimes are cheaper than fighting a theme.
